| Oh yes. They're here. Although the summer hasn't technically ended for me. The problem is I'm not really sure WHEN the summer will end. We're moving out of our apartment in three days and staying with my aunt (God bless her) until South Korea gets back to us about our visas... a process which could take anywhere from one to three weeks. Hopefully we'll be over there before September starts! I just hate being in limbo. I love DOING stuff, and while writing keeps me busy, writing alone isn't enough to sate my need to be constantly active. I've finished editing the first book! It's all shiny and ship-shape, waiting for agents and editors alike to devour it. (haha). I've worked on a query letter (rather neurotically actually, I'm still waiting on feedback before I take the plunge of submitting to an agent!) and a synopsis. I'm now about twenty pages or so into the second book. It was a little difficult at first to get the words flowing, but I wrote almost seven pages today alone. Off to a good start. Looking forward to Kimchi, crazy Korean kindergardeners and getting tons of rejection emails. :)

| Today, at 1:13, I finished the rough draft of my novel. It stands at about 447 double spaced pages (or 129,629 words). Phew. I need to take a little time off of it before I start editing again.

| I started writing the final climactic fight scene of the novel today!! Eeh! Only a few dozen more pages to go.

| Yesterday I passed the landmark page 400. Today I just breached 405. I'm so close to being finished that it aches-- yet I can't rush myself, because that's when my writing gets crappy. I just need to breath and let the writing happen. There's a very big possibility that I might actually finish this project (at least finish book one) (rough draft!) before graduation... which is in less than a month. I've never written this much in my life. Sorry all of my posts are about writing. What else is happening? School is almost through, although I have a buttload of work which I've been half-assing due to my novel. ha. Irony. So let's see. Graduation, May 9th. The month of May will be writing/editing time with a daily jog thrown into the mix. Hopefully I'll get to catch up with some girls. June 3rd-July 6th is travel time. July 19th-25th is mountains time. August 1st is South Korea time. I must savor Charleston for all it's worth. :)

| I got a rejection letter this morning. Just one more to add to the growing pile. I'd say I have almost twenty of them for this certain story I've been submitting. Although deep down I know that rejection is a part of being a writer, it's hard not to let it get to you sometimes. With this particular journal I'd kept my hopes up high, since they'd kept it for much longer than usual, which is usually a good thing. Of course I let myself imagine what would happen if I got accepted, etc. Building up these hopes only makes the rejection more scathing in my opinion. So, the solution is really just to keep writing and keep trying. Write with the story/book as the end, not publishing. What a hard thing to do!
